Have ever you try alcohol withdrawal symptoms? Do anyone know how long it takes to recover?
I had drink a plenty of red wine every night for a year? Then I day I stoped and suddenly the second day I started to have insomnia. Almost 3 months. I try valerian and melatonin only sometimes works. Now I still don’t know the reason that I can’t sleep well because when I don’t need to work next day I sleep better. Maybe job stress.
Don’t say to me I need 18 months to recover.

When you have drank for long period of times you “mess” with the chemical receptors in your brain. This leads to insomnia with people that become chemically dependent on substance, such as alcohol. It may take up to 18 months for chemical receptors to become normal again. Stress can be a leading cause of insomnia, but if it persist go and see your PCP.

Have I Developed Panic Disorder From Alcohol Withdrawal?
This is a bit long so please stick with me, thanks.

I got sober last week after an horrific withdrawal process which saw me get severe shakes and sweats, insomnia, agitation, hallucinations and most of all panic attacks. This withdrawal passed and so did all the symptoms, except the panic attacks.

It’s a week now since I last drank and I spend every day hysterical with anxiety and panic attacks. I can’t eat properly because I’m always feeling sick to the stomach and I can’t sleep that much because I’m so anxious in the first place.

Could I have gotten Panic Disorder as a result of going through the Alcohol Withdrawal?

Good on you for stopping alcohol. It will go away and no, you haven’t got anything. Your body is not impressed with the lack of alcohol, but in a month it will be so pleased and probably thank you for continuing!

    Alcohol withdrawal symptoms…..?
I am 31. Was a fairly heavy drinker for about 10 years. Have gradually cut down in the past year and no alcohol for about 2 weeks now. Have quit for many reasons – health (mental and physical), was having interrupted sleep and refound Christian faith). In the past 3 months or so after cutting back I have had sporadic insomnia which has become a lot worse in the past month. Could it be related to alcohol withdrawal? Has anyone experienced it and will it go away?????
I’m actually having no problems laying off the drink – am much happier without it. I live in the rural area of a non-English speaking country and there is no AA within a commutable distance.

Definitely alcohol w/drawls. I’m a sober alcoholic, too. Since you don’t have AA, feel free to email me anytime.
      Lots of prayers!

Is it ok to run while suffering tachycardia caused by alcohol withdrawal syndrome?
I’m on my second day of alcohol withdrawal and am having periodic panic attacks, nearly constant anxiety, and a rapid heart beat–which comes in waves.

I’m twenty-seven years old and otherwise healthy. Lying in bed all day has worsened the already-occurring insomnia and I feel I need to exercise.

What say you start with some yoga? Get a video from the library you don’t have to buy one. Your body is going through enough right now. And seriously, ask a doctor about this. Alcohol withdrawal can be life threatening. This is not something to ask a well-meaning, but unqualified person on a site like this about.
