    How does one cure insomnia without drugs? Please be serious i’m desperate here.?
    I’ve had insomnia for about 2 months now sleeping on average 2-3 hours a night. I just can’t fall asleep. I can appreciate a good joke or a funny answer but in all fairness i’m desperate and i’d like serious answers only please. And prescription drugs are not an option, I’ve seen my mom go through sleeping pill addiction and that was hell and I do not want to follow.

      I have suffered with insomnia off and on for over 15 years. I am now on Lunesta which is not habit forming. I can honestly say that some times I take it every night for one or two weeks and then I just don’t need it and so I won’t take it.
      But, since you don’t want to go that route, here are some things that use to work for me before they just didn’t anymore.
      1) Try to go to sleep every night at about the same time. It trains your body to expect and want sleep at a certain time.
      2) Avoid sugars and caffeine for at least 4 to 6 hours before bed time.
      3) Try a relaxing warm drink. I preferred chamomile tea.
      4) Don’t read or watch TV in bed. It sounds stupid, but if you only spend extended periods of time in bed for sleeping it sort of tricks your mind into “sleep mode” when you get into bed.
      5) My main problem was mind wondering. I found that when my mind would start to drift if I got up and wrote down what I was thinking it would quiet my thoughts.

    does anyone else feel like late pregnancy insomnia is some kind of cruel joke?
    my newest pregnancy symptom seems to be staying up till 5 am for some strange reason and doesn’t matter if i had a busy,hectic day or not. will this maybe change or probably not until birth?
    33 weeks :)
    ha ha yea my hubby came home at 3 pm and i was still asleep ! lol. oh well . at least i dont have to work anymore . how exhausting it was! :P

      omg yes!!! it is 1 am here and i am not tired at all! i end up going to sleep at 3am and waking up at 7am with my husband… any one else finding there self wanting to sleep more in the day though?!!!

    A cowboy rides into town on Thursday, he stays for three days, and leaves on Friday. How does he do it?

      It was the final examination for an introductory English course at the local university. The examination was two hours long, and exam booklets were provided. The professor was very strict and told the class that any exam that was not on his desk in exactly two hours would not be accepted and the student would fail. A half hour into the exam, a student came rushing in and asked the professor for an exam booklet.

      “You’re not going to have time to finish this,” the professor stated sarcastically as he handed the student a booklet.

      “Yes I will,” replied the student. He then took a seat and began writing. After two hours, the professor called for the exams, and the students filed up and handed them in. All except the late student, who continued writing. A half hour later, the last student came up to the professor who was sitting at his desk preparing for his next class. He attempted to put his exam on the stack of exam booklets already there.

      “No you don’t, I’m not going to accept that. It’s late.” The student looked incredulous and angry.

      “Do you know WHO I am?”

      “No, as a matter of fact I don’t,” replied the professor.

      “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?” the student asked again.

      “No! and I don’t care.” replied the professor with an air of superiority.

      “Very Good,” replied the student and quickly lifted the stack of completed exams, stuffed his in the middle, and ran out of the room.

      Being in front of the computer before bed can make it hard to sleep. Something about the frequency.
      Do not have caffeine.. in the form of chocolate as well or any sugars after 2 or 3 pm. Do not exercise in the evening. Do not nap during the day if you want to get back on a schedule.Take vitamins every day but … Do not take vitamins at night.
      This can also be caused by depression. Vitamins and a healthy diet is beneficial.
      Try relaxation techniques while laying in bed. Concentrating on breathing and starting from the toes relax , then legs, stomach, and so forth to even the muscles in your face.
      Something that has worked for me in the past is repeating sleep.. sleep.. in my head. Seems funny but it worked for me,. You just have to find what will work for you .
